Power to Hasten
The words “Power to Hasten” were part of Berivoi Outpost’s earlier website. They express a purpose that continues to shape the work here: preparing for Christ’s return through faith, useful skills, and a life of service.
The Outpost brings together several initiatives around Berivoi. Its story is lived through people who come to learn, volunteer, share life, and put what they believe into practice.
The place
At the foot of the Făgăraș Mountains.
Berivoi lies south of Făgăraș in central Romania, close to the foothills and the river that shares its name. Fields, trees, and the mountain landscape give everyday life here its setting.
The village’s history is much older than the modern Outpost. Our work is a present-day expression of Christian preparation and service in this place.
The calling

What the calling asks of us
Rooted in truth. Ready to serve.
Our language of “soldiers in Christ” is about spiritual formation: conviction, useful work, courage, and care for others.
Learn by doing.
Develop the capability and habits that make service practical, dependable, and useful.

Grow in a character that listens, shares responsibility, and places care for others at its heart.
The name
A name, and a reminder.
One explanation of the name connects it with being “distinguished in battle.” For us, that becomes a reminder of a present calling: to train soldiers in Christ—grounded in truth, capable in practical service, and other-centered in character.
This is our spiritual application of one explanation of the name, rather than a claim that “Berivoi” literally means “to train soldiers.”
